World Issues

Some common world issues are heavily talked about in the media, others are never touched on that are equally important to our world.

• Japanese whaling going on near Antarctica brought to the worlds attention in the TV show "Whale Wars"
• The pacific garbage chute
• Corporations like pharmacies, which sell drugs to people not to genuinely help people out, but to continue making money off them
• Fair trade items actually pay the farmers fairly instead of ripping them off
• Genetically modified foods (GMO) are everywhere, injected with chemicals to grow quicker or bigger or to mix different types together.  Many countries throughout the world have made the sale of these foods illegal but in Canada and USA we dont even require labelling to warn people the food is full of chemicals that harm you
• the chemicals in foods not only make the foods more addictive but also accumulate fat much quicker
• cigarette butts are the most common littered item, yet they never decompose
