Good Eats

In the past few years I have become increasingly interested in eating good, and learning what healthy eating means to me.  I have gained inspiration from various sources and want to share all my random healthy eating knowledge.  When I gain food knowledge I seem to always remember that I should eat it but not remember why, or what it is good for, but as long as I know I need the nutrient's thats all I need to know.

  • Flaxseed is great to use when making pancakes, and if your eating flaxseed you might as well eat Psyllium husk.  The nutrients aren't released from flax unless it is ground, and the nutrients aren't held in for more then a few days unless it is stored in the freezer.
  • 30mg per day is the maximum daily recommended amount of sugar...some beverages have four times this amount in it!
  • if you start your day with a cold 14 oz. cup of water it increases your metabolism for the morning
  • eat as much greens as possible: kale, spiniach, and basil, cilantro are my favorites
  • Any baking must not contain flour, sugar, or butter
  • always use coconut oil for cooking, and olive oil for a non-cooking oil
  • try to get protein first thing in the morning, protein banana pancakes are my favorite way to start the day!
  • eating every 3 hours, even something small keeps metabolism up
  • avoid everything fast, easy, and convienient
  • greens smoothies
  • wheat grass shots
  • no high fructose corn syrup (called Glucose-Fructose in Canada)
  • When you eat sugar, the stomach, or other areas that carry fat swell up in defense, but if you continually eat more then it turns into swelling on top of swelling, making the fat
